PRESS: Wildberries adds 3% commission for Visa, Mastercard payment

MOSCOW, Oct 12 (PRIME) -- Russian marketplace Wildberries on Monday introduced a 3% commission of the price of a purchase charged for payment with Visa and Mastercard cards, business daily Vedomosti reported on Thursday.

The information was confirmed by Dmitry Kolesnikov, head of development of financial and payment services at Wildberries, who added that it is a bank fee for processing the payment.

Kolesnikov said that the change stems from the specifics of the operational and technological process of payment acceptance via the payment systems. At present, Wildberries cannot process the transactions made with the Visa and Mastercard cards issued in Russia directly.

Wildberries’ clients can choose an alternative way of payment, like Mir cards, the Faster Payments System, or SberPay.
